- Fitness for purpose : The component is said to posses of good quality if it works well in the equipment for which it is meant quality is thus called fitness for use or purpose.
- Grade : Quality is a distinguishing feature or grade of the product in appearance, performance, taste, life, releability and mentainability etc. This is generally called a quality characterstics.
- Customer satisfaction : Quality is a measure of fulfilment of the promises made to the customer.
